Sasan Partovi did his medical school at the University Heidelberg, Germany. He received for his medical studies a full scholarship from the Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation. After medical school Sasan did a one year research fellowship in advanced hybrid imaging at Case Western Reserve University, Department of Radiology in Cleveland, Ohio. Currently he is doing his radiology residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 2012 Sasan was named award finalist of the AHA/North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging Young Investigator Award for his work dealing with imaging of hemodynamic alterations in the aorta of patients with left ventricular assist devices. He received in 2011 the Radiological Society of North America Trainee Research Award with his work about detection of skeletal muscle microperfusion alterations with advanced magnetic resonance imaging techniques in systemic sclerosis patients. In November 2011 the renowned US imaging online website AuntMinnie.com released a report about Sasan’s functional magnetic resonance research in brain cancer patients.
Sasan has served as invited Grand Round speaker and gave invited lectures at major medical centers and meetings in the United States. His research interests are focused on functional magnetic resonance imaging for cardiovascular diseases, computational fluid dynamics and molecular cancer imaging with PET/MRI. Sasan Partovi is up to now author of over 50 pubmed listed peer-reviewed manuscripts as well as numerous scientific abstracts and book chapters. He is currently serving as reviewer for eight journals. Sasan is member of the editorial board of Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy and served as guest editor of the special issue of the journal entitled “Cardiovascular MR Imaging” published in April 2014.
