CDT at the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Clinical Congress 2015

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Clinical Congress 2015 was held at the McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, USA from October 4th to October 8th.  Cardiovascu-lar Diagnosis and Therapy (CDT) was exhibited in the booth AME Publishing Com-pany (Figure 1).

During this congress, there were three cardiovascular sections, “Reducing Periopera-tive Cardiac Risk: What’s the Evidence”, “Women’s Health Day: Cardiovascular Dis-ease, It’s Not just about Men”, and “Vascular Surgery”. Plus, there was a Name Lec-ture “Distinguished Lecture of the international Society of Surgery: Challenges in Open heart Surgery in Africa: Cote d’lvoire Experience” performed by Prof. Kofi Herve Yangni-Angate, the founding father of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, the African Association of Thoracic and Cardio-Vascular Surgeons. 

It was an honor to invite Prof. Kofi Herve Yangni-Angate for an interview to talk mo-re about the situation of open heart surgery in Africa and the contribution of his team (Figure 2). This interview will be published in our special column “Meet the Profes-sor”.
